College Grove Basketball Registration for 2023-2024

Assessments/Team Draft Night
The coaches will meet and select their team after the kids (8U-14U) go through the assessments. Coaches will draw numbers to determine the selection order, and they will choose the players in a Snake Draft Form (i.e., Round One 1-10, Round Two 10-1, Round Three 1-10, Round Four 10-1, etc.) until all roster slots are full. Players unable to attend the assessment name will go in a hat and be picked randomly by the coaches. After all the coaches have concluded their picks, all rosters will be FINAL (no trading, swapping, or late additions).

Coaches Meeting
Monday, October 30th, from 5:30pm-7:30pm, in the College Grove Rec Multi-Purpose Room (next to the library). Coaches will select their practice time/location.
Ages - We are a recreational league with Williamson County Parks & Recreation (WCPR). We offer youth basketball for boys and girls ages 5-18. Our age divisions include 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 15U-18U. Your child's age on August 31, 2023, is the age used for each division. (For example, if your child is 7 or 8 years old by August 31, they will play in the 8U division.)
2023-2024 WCPR RULES! – Teams are no longer allowed to "come back together" from last season. Each team will start the draft with the coach's and assistant coach's child.
Evaluations – There will be evaluations this year after the sign-ups close (typically the week following Fall Break). Since 6U does not participate in assessments, coaches can lock up to 4 players per team, as the remainder of the roster will be randomly picked by the league.
15-18 Boys Division – The division will be split into 15-16 boys and 17-18 boys. Evaluations will not occur. This league is BYOT (bring your own team). Players still need to register online, but there are no evaluations. Parents will receive information regarding your first practice from your coach.
OPEN teams – Open teams are available for 10U (boys & girls), 12U (boys & girls), and 14U (boys only). You must contact us during registration if you are interested in forming an OPEN team. Coaches must organize a team and email me a list of players. Players still need to register online, but there are no evaluations. Parents will receive information regarding your first practice from your coach.
Practices– Practices are held at College Grove Elementary and College Grove Rec Center and will begin the week of November 6th.
No practices during the week of Thanksgiving (11/20-11/24)
No practices during winter break (12/18-1/1/2024)
Games - Games will start in December and will be scheduled by Williamson County Parks & Recreation. All games are on Saturdays – They will be held at various Williamson County Schools and Williamson County Recreational Centers. We will NOT make it up if a regular season game gets canceled due to weather and/or any other event.

Tournament:
In-house, Open, and 15U-18U tournaments will occur the week of February 5-10.
The all-county tournament will take place the week of February 12-17. We have the following week reserved (2/19-2/24) in case of any cancellations.
Coaches – If you are interested in volunteering as a head coach or assistant coach, don't hesitate to contact us. All head and assistant coaches must have a background check through College Grove Recreation Association. We will need first and last names and email addresses.
FEES – Online registration is $150.00 for each age group. If you sign up late and we have an opening, there will be an additional $40.00 charge. The league will issue a refund, minus the $3 credit card fee, as long as the refund has been requested before the child’s assessment date.
Referee Officials and Score Book and Score Board Keepers are Needed (Paid)! – WCPR ALWAYS needs qualified referees. If you want to officiate youth basketball games, please email Adrian Ludwig, WCPR Youth Sports Coordinator, at [email protected].
